Stone Freight Solutions is an Australian owned International Freight Forwarder seeking a locally experienced Licenced Customs Broker for a full-time role at Tullamarine with options for other national offices (Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth).

Two roles available; strong knowledge of Australian Customs and ability to manage end-to-end customs processes for both Ocean and Air shipments. Mentoring and accuracy are key in this compliance-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Current Australian Customs Broker Licence.
• 1–5 years' local Australian Customs Broker experience.
• 19.1 and 19.2 accreditation with DAFF.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Customs requirements and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• CW1 experience.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of lodging a diverse range of commodities.
• Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with BICON and COLS.
• Teamwork oriented in a compliance-focused environment.
• Commitment to Quality Management System.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day lodgements of Import Declarations for a wide range of products and customers.
• Provide mentorship and support to compilers/classifiers.
• Manage customs clearance requirements for Ocean and Air freight.
• Review and apply Australian Customs requirements.
• Manage complex valuations and tariff classifications.
• Ensure import entries are accurate and compliant.
• Address CP questions with supportive detail.
• Assist with internal audits and refunds/drawbacks as required.
• Provide technical advice to internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with customers, forwarders, shipping lines and airlines.

Customs Broker sought for stable and reputable Australian Owned Freight Forwarder.

A stable and reputable Australian owned International Freight Forwarder with offices nationally seeking a locally experienced Licenced Customs Broker for full time role at Tullamarine / other national offices - Sydney / Brisbane / Adelaide, or Perth.

The position seeks a locally experienced Licenced Broker who can apply Customs Requirements for both Ocean and Air shipments to join Tullamarine office / other national offices and support the Customs team. Role suitable for junior broker with 1-2 years experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Handle day to day lodgements of Import Declarations for a large variety of products and customers.
• Provide mentorship and support to compilers/classifiers
• Managing customs clearance requirements for both Ocean and Air freight
• Review and apply Australian Customs requirements
• Manage complex Customs valuations and tariff classifications
• Ensure import entries are accurate and compliant
• Ensure CP questions are answered accurately with supporting detail
• Assist with internal audits
• Complete refund and drawback applications as required.
• Provide a high level of customer service internally and externally for technical advice matters
• Strive to identify and use the lowest rate of duty and GST for all entries
• Liaise with customers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines and other relevant parties
• Manage AQIS/DAFF and biosecurity requirements
• Monitor shipments and ensure clearances are completed within required timeframes
• Provide professional advice and support to internal and external customers
• Identify and resolve customs-related issues
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Maintain knowledge of relative legislations
• Attend seminars as required for learning and current events online and face-to-face
• Maintain government relations and monitor border watch concerns
• Work collaboratively with the wider operations and customer service teams
• Assist Customs Manager

ABOUT YOU:

• Current Australian Customs Broker Licence
• 1-5 years' current Australian Customs Broker experience
• 19.1 and 19.2 approved arrangement accreditation with DAFF
• Strong knowledge of Australian Customs requirements and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• CW1 experience
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge and experience lodging a diverse range of commodities.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with BICON and COLS.
• Motivated individual who works well within a corporate, compliance-focused industry environment.
• Teamwork oriented.
• Comply with Quality Management System requirements.
