CGC Recruitment in Brisbane, QLD is seeking an experienced Licensed Customs Broker to join our international freight forwarding team. You will manage customs clearance requirements across a varied portfolio of import customers, handling declarations, classifications and compliance advice.

Working autonomously within a supportive operations group, you will liaise with authorities, stay current with legislation, and build strong relationships with customers while delivering a high level of service

Customs Broker – International Freight Forwarding Brisbane, QLD | $120,000 – $140,000 + Super

An established international freight forwarding and logistics business is looking to appoint an experienced Licensed Customs Broker to join its Brisbane operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a broker looking for variety, autonomy and exposure to a diverse customer base, with the opportunity to work across a broad range of commodities rather than being restricted to one particular industry or product type.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced freight forwarding team, you will be responsible for managing customs clearance requirements across a varied portfolio of import customers.

• Preparing and lodging import declarations
• Managing customs clearances across a wide variety of commodities
• Tariff classification and interpretation
• Providing customs and compliance advice to customers
• Liaising with Australian Border Force, DAFF and other relevant authorities
• Reviewing documentation and identifying potential compliance issues
• Managing queries, holds and clearance-related problems
• Working closely with freight forwarding, operations and customer service teams
• Building strong relationships with customers and providing a high level of service
• Staying up to date with changes to customs legislation and regulatory requirements

About You

You will be an experienced Australian Licensed Customs Broker with a strong understanding of import customs clearance and compliance.

You will ideally bring experience across multiple commodity types, giving you the confidence to manage varied and sometimes complex entries. Strong classification skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical customs requirements clearly to customers will be important.

You will also be comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a collaborative forwarding environment.
