Job summary

The City of Ballarat is seeking a Customer Service Tree Inspector to assess trees that pose risks to the community and council assets. You will handle defect reporting, create jobs, and communicate findings responsibly to residents.

The role requires arboriculture certification, in-field experience, and strong interpersonal skills, with a Victorian driver's license and familiarity with asset management data registers.

Qualifications

• A current Victorian driver’s license.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents.
• Ability to work with Operational teams and provide condition/defect inspections for tree issues.
• Arboriculture certification and in-field experience.
• Technical knowledge of asset management systems and data registers.

Responsibilities

• Action customer service requests relating to City of Ballarat trees that present a risk to community, private infrastructure or council assets.
• Perform detailed tree assessment and defect identification, reporting and job creation.
• Respond professionally and promptly to community tree requests.

About The Role

The Customer Service Tree Inspector will action customer service requests relating to City of Ballarat trees that present a risk to community, private infrastructure or council assets. This will involve detailed tree assessment, defect identification, reporting and job creation as well as responding in a professional and timely manner to community tree requests.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• A current Victorian driver’s license
• well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with our residents
• The ability to work with other Operational teams and provide condition and defect inspections for tree related issues
• Relevant arboriculture certification and in field experience
• Technical knowledge of asset management systems and data registers
