As a Customer Service Officer, you will provide customers with positive service experiences through quality and efficient responses to their enquiries, issues, requests and applications via the Council's Call Centre, Customer Service Centres and electronic contacts.

Primarily based in Caboolture but rostered to work from our Customer Service Centres at Strathpine and Redcliffe as required to support service delivery.

  • Undertake the provision of accurate and appropriate responses to customer enquiries and issues.
  • Compile requests for action by Council departments, process applications and complete financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Council and Customer Services policies, practices, procedures and service standards.
  • Provide input into the development of departmental procedures and processes, advocating for the customer and supporting continual improvement and efficiency.
  • Assist with developing the capability and capacity within the team and contribute to a positive working environment.
About you

We are looking to leverage your exceptional customer service, people and relationship skills and willingness to contribute to a positive work environment. Naturally, you will be a reliable, engaging and conscientious individual who can think on their feet, learn quickly and navigate multiple systems with ease.

You will thrive in a fast-paced and rewarding role which requires your high attention to detail, communication skills and a commitment to achieving personal and team goals.

You bring well-developed time management skills and the ability to work in a structured work environment while still adapting to change, managing conflicting priorities and deadlines with ease, while maintaining a strong focus on working as part of a team and the broader organisation.

You have experience working with complex information, solving problems and resolving conflict, and previous Contact Centre experience is desirable but not essential.

What is on offer:
  • Permanent / 12 Month Max Term Contract Full-time roles with the opportunity to work a 9-day fortnight after induction
  • Great work hours with shifts between 8.15am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
  • The opportunity to work from home in a hybrid environment, after a six-month period
  • Comprehensive product and systems training with ongoing upskilling and development
  • Regular feedback and coaching so you can achieve your professional and personal goals
  • A commencement date of Monday, 11 January 2027
  • An attractive commencement salary of $79,779.27 pa + 12% super

Please note that, due to the nature of the role, you may be required to work outside of the business hours listed above in order to support the community during significant events such as adverse weather, as needed.

You’ll also enjoy a range of other benefits:
  • Advance your skills and career through our Study, Training And Research Scheme (STARS).
  • Make your pay go further with salary packaging options on novated leases, superannuation payments, smartphones and devices.
  • Prioritise your health and wellbeing with discounted health insurance, free annual flu vaccinations and our Fitness Passport Program.
  • Get support when you and your family need it most with our 24/7 confidential counselling service and Mates in Construction program.
  • Our offices have local parking and are close to public transport networks, making for an easy commute.
