Qualifications

Join our NCBA team and help clients minimise the financial burden of installing renewable energy systems, enabling homeowners and businesses to lower their energy bills and reduce their carbon footprint.

We work with government energy efficiency schemes, including the NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) and Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS), to identify eligible renewable energy and energy‑saving opportunities for our clients. These include technologies such as cooling and air conditioning, hot water systems, energy‑efficient lighting and battery energy storage. Through these schemes, we create environmental certificates that help provide our clients with financial incentives for their installations.

The Opportunity

As a part of the Client Services Team, the Customer Service Officer (CSO) is responsible for managing and developing relationships with new and existing clients, providing service excellence through the environmental certificate creation process.

This person will play an integral role in supporting the sustainability goals of National Carbon Bank of Australia (NCBA), working closely with the CSO team and wider business to deliver gold standard outcomes for clients.

The CSO will provide clients with scheme compliance guidance, training, investigation and problem‑solving, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Full training and ongoing support will be provided to equip you with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the role.

CSO responsibilities:

As NCBA’s first point of contract for clients, you will answer incoming calls to the office and help clients with their enquiries, building strong relationships through a genuine desire to understand clients and their business.

Provide an overview to clients of the relevant government schemes NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) and Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) and assist in registering new customers and answering queries by phone or email.

Take personal ownership for the processing, submission and investigation of certificate creations across several different renewable energy schemes.

Advising and consulting with clients to resolve issues with certificate creations, help with enquiries and in particular assist with client use of our online platforms and requests for information on forms.

Validating compliance documentation and liaising with clients to document collection requirements.

Update and maintain department processing manuals and contribute to process improvements.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who:

An university degree in environmental industry or similar area of study is an advantage.

Prior customer service experience in any sector is advantageous.

A proactive, self‑motivated and goal‑driven personality with a desire to step up and take on additional responsibility.

Strong use of initiative and analytical skills when resolving problems with customers and team members.

General competency with picking up technical systems & platforms, alongside an understanding of the Microsoft Suite of applications, including Outlook.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in terms of compliance, governance and risk management.

Excellent written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to structure clear, polished and appropriately formal client communications, particularly via email.

The ability to explore needs through listening and having consultative conversations.Is confident communicating on the phone and meeting face to face.

The ability to plan, manage and prioritise your time.
