Job no: 495480
Work type: Permanent Full Time
Location: SA - Adelaide
Categories: Customer Service - Call Centre

Be the voice of Northline and help keep freight, customers and communities moving.

As a Customer Service Officer, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for our customers, playing an important role in delivering a positive customer experience. We currently have permanent opportunities available, working Monday to Friday, with flexibility required to work shifts between 7:30am and 6:00pm.

Whether you’re coming from a call centre, hospitality, retail or another customer-focused environment, this could be the perfect opportunity to bring your people skills into the freight and logistics industry and build a career with a business that values development and promotes from within.

What you’ll be doing

No two days are exactly the same. You’ll work closely with customers and teammates across our network to:

  • Be a friendly and professional first point of contact for inbound customer enquiries.
  • Keep customers and teammates updated on freight movements and enquiries through inbound and outbound calls.
  • Assist customers by connecting with the right teams to find timely solutions.
  • Respond to customer email enquiries accurately and efficiently.
  • Proactively communicate delays and updates, ensuring customers remain informed.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with customers and teammates across our local and interstate network.
  • Take ownership of enquiries and work collaboratively to deliver a great customer experience.
What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems and being part of a supportive team. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in customer service, call centres, hospitality, retail or a similar customer-focused environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A natural ability to build rapport and develop positive working relationships.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support your teammates.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry and typing skills.
  • The ability to prioritise, problem‑solve and keep things moving in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Confidence communicating with a range of customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
