Job summary

Hays is recruiting a Customer Metering Services Officer for a Local Government organisation in Logan. You will provide confidential administrative and operational support for metering services spanning field and office environments, ensuring accurate billing outcomes and water revenue protection.

You will investigate customer enquiries, validate meter data, and help drive continuous improvement in metering processes and system enhancements.

Qualifications

• High attention to detail and data accuracy in financial and operational records.
• Exceptional customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong time management and organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks.
• Advanced systems and administration experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Vaccination requirements may apply.
• Blue Card must be held.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to customer enquiries and complaints related to water consumption, meter readings, wastewater charges and billing.
• Provide accurate advice to residential, commercial, and wholesale customers on metering, billing, and policies.
• Support revenue protection by validating meter data and investigating discrepancies with internal teams and contractors.
• Assess metering-related applications (leaks remissions, hydrant standpipes) per legislation and policies.
• Maintain records and monitor metering and billing processes to support compliance and performance.
• Contribute to system enhancements and smart metering projects for improved service delivery.
