Job summary

Visy seeks a Customer Demand Planner to join the Glass Planning team in Melbourne. You will forecast demand for a portfolio of ~200 SKUs across four plants and five distribution centres, collaborating with Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Planning to improve forecast accuracy and inventory control.

In addition to driving IBP/S&OP processes, you will monitor forecast bias and stock aging, seek continuous improvements, and help Visy optimize service levels and costs while supporting integration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant field and experience in demand planning.
• Experience forecasting in FMCG environments with cross-functional alignment.

Visy is a global leader in packaging and resource recovery, with significant investment in its glass manufacturing operations across Australia and New Zealand.

We are seeking an experienced Customer Demand Planner to join our Glass Planning team in Melbourne, reporting to the ANZ Demand Planning Manager. Supporting a portfolio spanning approximately 200 SKUs, four manufacturing plants and five distribution centres, you will play a key role in forecasting customer demand and aligning commercial and supply chain plans.

Working closely with customers, Sales, Supply Planning and Customer Service, you will use data, market insights and statistical forecasting to improve forecast accuracy, manage demand variability and support better business decisions. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will help optimise customer service, inventory and costs while contributing to the ongoing development of Visy's integrated business planning processes.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain rolling demand forecasts across short- and long-term planning horizons.
• Collaborate with customers and Sales to align forecasts and challenge assumptions using data and market insights.
• Lead demand reviews and contribute to monthly IBP/S&OP and weekly planning processes.
• Identify demand risks, supply gaps and opportunities, recommending solutions that balance customer service, inventory and cost.
• Monitor forecast accuracy, bias and aged stock, driving continuous improvement.
• Communicate forecast changes and demand priorities across Supply Planning, Customer Service and commercial teams.
• Maintain accurate planning data and support improvements to forecasting systems and processes.

What You Will Bring

• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• Experience in demand planning, ideally within an FMCG environment.
• Strong knowledge of demand forecasting, statistical modelling and supply chain planning.
• Experience with IBP/S&OP processes and cross-functional planning.
• Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen and the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication, customer relationship management and stakeholder influencing skills.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail, ownership and a continuous improvement mindset.
