Job summary

Wotbox in Albury, NSW is seeking a hands-on Fabricator to join the workshop team. You will weld, fabricate, and modify shipping containers for commercial and residential uses, from initial structural work to final fit-outs and onsite placements.

The role requires experience in welding and steel fabrication, the ability to read drawings, and a strong safety mindset. Trade qualifications are preferred but not essential; a proactive, detail-focused team player will thrive.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in welding and steel fabrication (trade qualification preferred but not essential).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and work to project specs.
• Strong safety awareness in workshop and site environments.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Foreman to confirm job allocations, schedule, and build priorities.
• Cut, weld, and assemble steel components for structural modifications to containers.
• Fabricate framework, wall studs, windows, doors, and reinforcement structures.
• Perform MIG welding to high visual and structural standards; prep work and finishing.
• Assist in internal fit-outs including subfloor installation, framing, insulation, and lining.
• Assist in onsite installations and container placements when needed.
• Maintain and clean fabrication tools and equipment; notify Foreman of material needs.
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and usage of all tools and materials.
