Job summary

St Peters Lutheran College invites applications for a Curriculum Leader Assistant in Christian Studies. You will work with the Curriculum Leader to teach across Years 7–12 and lead a defined area of the department annually.

You will contribute to curriculum design, assessment quality, and staff coaching, deputising for the Curriculum Leader when needed. The role focuses on pedagogy, co‑leading teaching approaches, and serving as a pathway into curriculum leadership.

Qualifications

Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) Registration.
Capacity to lead a team of teachers through coaching, support and collaboration.
Demonstrated interest in pedagogy and in improving how a subject is taught.
Ability to teach Study of Religion, Philosophy and Reason, and Religion and Ethics will be highly regarded.
Sound curriculum, assessment and syllabus knowledge.
Capacity to maintain systems and deadlines through assessment and reporting cycles.

Responsibilities

Lead a defined area of the department's work, agreed with the Curriculum Leader annually.
Coach and support colleagues and deputise for the Curriculum Leader when required.
Contribute to curriculum design and assessment quality.
Co‑lead the department's pedagogy and how subjects are taught.
Mentor and support staff development within the team.
