Job summary

IMPACT Community Services Limited is seeking a Cultural Capability & Connections Officer in Bundaberg to support culturally safe services for First Nations participants and families across our programs. This full-time fixed-term role runs to 30 June 2027, with emphasis on building community connections and improving referral pathways within Taribelang Bunda, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang and Bailai Country.

Qualifications

• Experience in community services, child and family services, mental health services or related sectors is desirable.
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, identified position.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with First Nations people, families and communities.
• Understanding of cultural safety and culturally responsive practice.
• Capacity to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with First Nations participants, families, communities and organisations.
• Engage with First Nations participants to understand experiences, needs and priorities.
• Develop and maintain networks with community organisations, stakeholders and service providers.
• Contribute to service improvement by identifying emerging needs and participant feedback.
• Support development of referral pathways and community connections.
• Assist with community engagement activities and events.
