Job summary

Accor's Peppers Beach Club in Port Douglas is seeking a Cook to join the kitchen team. You will assist experienced chefs, learn the art of cooking, and contribute to crafting delectable dishes while gaining hands-on experience in a resort kitchen.

You will support ingredient prep, maintain hygiene standards, and expand your culinary knowledge in a fast-paced environment, with shifts that may include mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Passion for cooking and a strong desire to pursue a culinary career.
• Enthusiasm to learn and adapt in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards.
• Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts, including mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safe handling of food
• Learn proper techniques for handling and cutting various food items
• Seek opportunities to expand knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavour profiles
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, including washing dishes, equipment and utensils
