Job summary

SQC Silicon Quatum Computing in Sydney is seeking a Quantum Engineer to develop and validate the cryogenic infrastructure that connects silicon quantum processors to the classical world. You will test wiring, interconnects and cryogenic interfaces as qubit systems scale, and contribute to cross-talk testing protocols and data analysis.

This is an hands-on, early-career role for someone who enjoys lab work, meticulous testing, and teamwork to push the performance and reliability of quantum

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Honours, or Master’s in physics, electrical/quantum engineering.
• Hands-on lab experience in cryogenics and RF/MW test.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Test and validate cryogenic wiring, attenuation stacks, interconnects, and connector solutions.
• Develop and execute cross-talk testing protocols for high-density cryogenic signal delivery.
• Assess the impact of cryogenic components and configurations on qubit performance, including noise, thermalisation, and warming effects.
• Operate and maintain cryogenic dilution refrigerator systems, and contribute to their monitoring and reliability.
• Develop and maintain test and data analysis code, and document results clearly against defined requirements.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering and measurement teams on quantum-classical interfaces and fridge configurations.
• Maintain and support specialised laboratory and RF equipment.
