Job summary

SQC Silicon Quatum Computing is hiring a Quantum Engineer to support rapid prototyping of QPUs. You will work with the QPU fabrication team to characterise devices at 4K and help automate screening setups, improving throughput in the prototyping pipeline.

The role suits someone with a materials or device characterisation background who enjoys rigorous, systematic work and aims to contribute to the world’s fastest quantum processor manufacturing pipeline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Honours, or Master’s in physics, materials science, nanotechnology, quantum engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with materials or device characterisation in academic or industrial environments.
• Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in Python.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and rigorous in documentation and process.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Characterise quantum devices at cryogenic temperatures.
• Develop, standardise, and automate protocols for efficient device screening.
• Develop and maintain the relevant characterisation code.
• Produce and analyse high-quality measurement data.
• Collaborate with atomic fabrication, cleanroom, and measurement teams to improve the prototyping loop.
• Contribute to technical strategy and implement new ideas and solutions.
