Job summary

Gordi Restaurant café & Bar in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our busy, modern venue. You will help lead the kitchen, develop menus, and maintain high standards of food safety and service.

With at least two years as a Sous Chef (or strong Chef de Partie stepping up), you will mentor staff, manage operations in the Head Chef’s absence, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while upholding reliability and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Chef de Partie ready to step up
• Confidence in managing kitchen operations when the Head Chef is away
• Ability to lead, train, and support kitchen staff
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Creativity with menu development and specials
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
