Job summary

SIMPEC is seeking an experienced Franna Crane Operator (up to 25T) to support the Alkimos Desalination Plant construction in Western Australia. This 12+ month opportunity focuses on safe crane operation, lifting and positioning materials, and aiding installation activities across the project.

The successful candidate will have proven Franna operating experience on major infrastructure projects, a strong safety ethic and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative project team.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of lifting plans and site safety requirements.

Franna Crane Operator (Up to 25T) - Alkimos Desalination Plant

SIMPEC is seeking an experienced Franna Crane Operator (up to 25T) to support the construction of the Alkimos Desalination Plant, a major infrastructure project that will provide a sustainable source of drinking water for Western Australia. This is a 12+ month opportunity, with responsibilities including safe crane operation, lifting and positioning materials, and supporting structural, mechanical and piping installation activities across the project.

The successful candidate will have proven Franna operating experience within construction, industrial, mining or major project environments, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative project team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Franna cranes safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures and lift plans.
• Perform lifting, transporting and positioning of plant, equipment and materials.
• Complete pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks.
• Work closely with riggers, doggers and construction personnel during lifting activities.
• Adhere to site safety standards, SWMS and permit requirements.
• Participate in toolbox meetings and pre-starts.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting requirements.

About the Project

These projects will include the construction phase of the Desalination Plant

Roster: Monday to Friday - ad-hoc Saturdays at the peak of the project

Length of Project: 12 months+

Location: Alkimos, W.A. 6038

Point of Hire: Perth

Essential Qualifications/Tickets

• High Risk Work Licence - CN (Non-Slewing Mobile Crane).
• Valid Dogging (DG) Licence (highly regarded).
• Current White Card.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Demonstrated experience operating Franna cranes up to 25 tonnes on construction, mining, shutdown or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of lifting operations and site safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Desirable

• Rigging Licence (RB, RI or RA).
• Working at Heights.
• Enter and Work in Confined Spaces.
• HR Driver's Licence.
• Experience on large-scale industrial, water, resources or infrastructure projects.
