Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a compassionate Counsellor for the Parenting Orders Program in Mackay. The role is part-time (3 days per week) with a focus on assessment, counselling and case management for families experiencing separation and high conflict.

Minimum Bachelor degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science required; APS/AASW/PACFA membership eligible; blue card and criminal history suitability checks necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level degree in psychology, social work or behavioural science from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Eligible for membership with APS; AASW or PACFA
  • Current Queensland Driver's Licence

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, counselling, psychoeducation, referrals and case management to parents.
  • Provide support to children and families through referrals and case collaboration.
  • Complete risk assessments and safety planning with people experiencing domestic and family violence; adhere to organisational processes to manage client risk as part of case management.
