Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland seeks a compassionate Counsellor to join the Parenting Orders Program in Mackay. This maximum-term part-time role (3 days per week) runs until 30 June 2027, based in Mackay, with remuneration of $53.43 per hour plus Super and NFP salary packaging.

You will assess, counsel, provide psychoeducation to parents, support children and families via referrals, and manage risk through safety planning and established processes. evening work may be required.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor level degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution is required.
• Eligible for membership with APS; AASW or PACFA.
• Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
• Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card).
• Willingness to undergo a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Providing support to children and families through referrals and case collaboration.
• Completing risk assessments and safety planning with people experiencing domestic and family violence as part of the case management process and client service delivery.

Your part in our UnitingCare team

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Counsellor to join our Parenting Orders Programteam to support individuals and families experiencing separation, high conflict and emotional stress.

This position will be based in Mackay. Some evening work will be required.

This role involves:
