Job summary

Kappa Executive Search is representing a cost management role based in Sydney, Australia. The successful candidate will join a leading consultancy delivering major Data Centre developments and will work closely with senior Cost Managers.

The role offers exposure across pre and post contract services, from cost planning and procurement through to construction and final accounts, with development opportunities as you gain experience in the Data Centre sector.

Qualifications

• 1+ years' Cost Management or Quantity Surveying experience within a consultancy environment.
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Experience or exposure to cost planning, estimating and pre-contract services.
• Exposure to variations, progress claims and cost reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support early cost planning and procurement through to construction and final account.
• Work alongside experienced Cost Managers and engage with clients, consultants and contractors.
• Develop specialist Data Centre cost management capabilities across pre and post contract services.

If you've spent the first few years of your career building your Cost Management experience in New Zealand and have considered making the move to Australia, this could be the opportunity to do it.

Based in Sydney, you'll join a leading international project and cost management consultancy delivering major Data Centre developments—one of the fastest-growing and most technically complex sectors in construction.

You'll work alongside experienced Cost Managers and gain exposure across both pre and post contract services, from early cost planning and procurement through to construction and final account. As your experience develops, you'll take on greater responsibility and build confidence working directly with clients, consultants and contractors.

What you'll need

• 1+ years' Cost Management or Quantity Surveying experience within a consultancy environment
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Experience or exposure to cost planning, estimating and pre-contract services
• Exposure to variations, progress claims and cost reporting will be highly regarded
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with good attention to detail
• Confidence communicating with clients, consultants and project stakeholders
• An interest in relocating to Sydney and developing specialist Data Centre experience
• A collaborative approach and willingness to continue learning from experienced members of the team
