Job summary

Drug ARM is seeking a part-time Case Worker in Queensland to co-facilitate psycho-education group sessions for people in custody or under community supervision, addressing substance use and related issues.

The role involves engaging participants, conducting pre/post testing, and delivering sessions within harm minimisation principles, with travel to Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre, Gatton and Borallon as needed.

Qualifications

• Deliver psychoeducation group facilitation to persons in custody or under community supervision to address substance use and related issues.
• An understanding of group dynamics, group facilitation and the delivery of alcohol and other drug psychoeducation in group settings.
• An understanding of Motivational Interviewing and the Stages of Change model and relapse prevention strategies.
• Undergraduate qualifications in health/human services or working towards with experience in delivering alcohol and other drug services.

Responsibilities

• Operate within the harm minimisation framework as articulated in national and state strategies and service delivery frameworks.
• Recognise the spectrum and stages of substance use and work with clients across all stages.
• Respond to a range of poly drug use and associated risk factors while considering family needs.
• Flexibly meet clients’ needs including outreach and varying hours of operation.
