Descripción del empleo

nib's vision is better health and wellbeing for all Australians. We know there are few greater opportunities for us to have a meaningful social impact than in keeping people healthy, and now, in supporting people with disabilities, building their capacity for greater independence in our community.

nib Thrive

is the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) business for the nib Group. In November 2022, nib acquired its first registered NDIS Plan Manager, since then we have continued to grow, and we have now expanded into Support Coordination.

Let's talk about diversity, equity and inclusion

We embrace a flexible working environment and welcome candidates that reflect the diversity of the communities in which we operate. We actively encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people living with disability, LGBTQIA+ as well as culturally diverse community members to apply for open roles.

nib Group is committed to creating an accessible recruitment process and employment experience. If you identify as a person living with disability and require adjustments to our online application, recruitment, selection and/or assessment process, please contact us at nibemployment @nib.com.au.

Let's talk about this role

The Support Coordinator is dedicated to assisting NDIS participants in the coordination and implementation of all supports outlined in their funded plans. This includes informal, mainstream, community, and NDIS-funded supports.

This is a full-time permanent role that may require travel across the Hunter region to meet with participants and their families as required.

The primary objectives of this role are:

  • Strengthen and enhance the participant's ability to coordinate supports, participate in the community, and ensure the delivery of their plan within the allocated budget.
  • Build the participant's capacity to achieve greater independence and self‑direct their services and supports in the long term.
  • Provide the participant and the NDIA with timely reports on outcomes and success indicators.
  • Develop and implement solutions and strategies that enhance the participant's inclusion in their community.
Let's talk about you

The key outcomes of this role:

  • Participants consistently report positive experiences and feel supported.
  • Delivery of innovative, person‑centred supports tailored to individual needs.

  • Proven experience in portfolio management and effective work planning.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills with participants, families, and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and computer skills for case noting, CRM maintenance, and report writing.
  • In-depth knowledge of NDIS, the Disability Services Act, and NDIA's Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits Guide.

At nib, we recognise that some people may only apply when their education, skills and/or experiences are identical to what an employer is looking for in a candidate. We're always on the lookout for curious individuals who will add to the culture at nib Group - so if this role resonates with you, please apply!
