Job summary

Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) seeks an HSE Investigations Coordinator to lead high-level investigations grounded in risk assessment and evidence collection. You will guide project teams to strengthen processes and ensure consistent application of investigation procedures across project locations.

Qualifications

• White Card held and safety-related training.
• Certificate IV in Safety required.
• ICAM Lead Investigator or equivalent Root Cause Analysis training.
• Proficiency with investigation tools and software.

Responsibilities

• Support and conduct complex enquiries and investigations across project locations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of investigation practices and procedures.
• Conduct objective investigations per Project Incident and Investigation processes.
• Ensure technical issues are identified and input from specialists obtained.
• Prepare detailed investigation reports with findings and regulatory recommendations.
• Collect and analyse data from plans, permits and inspection reports.
• Interview contractors, engineers, line managers and involved persons for evidence.
• Maintain accurate records of investigations including photos and videos.
• Collaborate with legal and risk management to assess impact and risks.
• Recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Assist the wider HSE team with day-to-day safety activities when investigations are not required.
• Coach site HSE teams on FGJV investigation processes.

Job description

Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) is the principal contractor for Snowy Hydro's Snowy 2.0, Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. We bring the combined engineering expertise of three companies - Italy's Webuild (formerly Salini Impregilo), Australian-based Clough and US-based Lane Construction.

Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.

Purpose of the Role

The HSE Investigations Coordinator is responsible for conducting and leading high-level investigations based on actual or potential risk, collecting evidence, and providing recommendations related to continuous improvement. The role also guides and supports Project and site teams to strengthen investigation capability and ensure consistent application of processes.

Experience

• Proven experience as a HSE Investigations Coordinator or similar role, preferably in the construction industry
• Knowledge of construction regulations and standards
• Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to a wide range of stakeholders
• Attention to detail and ability to work with minimum supervision
• Proficient in using investigation tools and software
• Strong initiative and proactive nature
• Well-developed time management skills
• Exceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Support and conduct complex enquiries and investigations, including complaints, and/or support site to undertake these activities.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of investigation practices and procedures, including through quality assurance activities and procedural development.
• Conduct thorough and objective investigations in line with Project Incident and Investigation processes across all Project locations as required.
• Ensure that technical issues are identified, and appropriate specialist input is obtained for specific aspects of enquiries and investigations.
• Prepare enquiry and comprehensive investigation reports including detailed findings and recommended regulatory responses.
• Collect and analyse data, including plans, permits, and inspection reports, to identify potential areas of non-compliance or discrepancies.
• Interview Project stakeholders, such as contractors, engineers, line managers, and involved persons, to gather information and additional evidence.
• Document and maintain accurate records of investigations, including photographs, videos, and written reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams, such as legal and risk management, to assess the impact and potential risks associated with the findings.
• Make recommendations for corrective actions or improvements to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Prepare and present findings and reports with recommendations to senior management.
• When investigations are not required, provide assistance to the wider HSE team on day-to-day safety-related activities.
• Assist in coaching site HSE Teams on basic aspects of FGJV's investigation processes.
• Where indicated, ensure requirements of Legal Professional Privilege are applied and maintained throughout the investigation and report preparation activities.
• Prepare Incident Debrief and Findings Sessions as required for Senior Leadership.
