Job summary

Harden Grange, part of the Apollo Care Alliance, is seeking a Casual Cook to join the Catering Team for holiday and sick relief. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will prepare nutritious, appetising meals aligned with residents' needs, standards, and regulatory requirements, while delivering within budget.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years hospitality experience in a Cook role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain) as a requirement.
• Food Safety Supervisor Course is mandatory.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Casual Cook who is passionate about a person-centered approach to care, to join our Catering Team. This role is to cover our Holiday Relief and Sick Relief.

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Cook provides a nutritious, appetising, and varied menu for residents that enhance their quality of life. This menu is nutritionally sound, is aligned to residents' individual medical and other needs and preferences, the Aged Care Quality standards, and regulatory requirements, and is delivered within budget.

What you will do

• Manage all aspects of the kitchen section, including training, leading and inspiring the Kitchen team to ensure a highly-skilled, well-organised and motivated team.
• Ensure food safety standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are established, monitored and maintained to meet current Food Concept guidelines
• Delivery of food is executed in a timely manner
• Undertake ordering of stock for all kitchen areas needs, ensuring orders across sections are condensed to reduce excessive stock, and par stock levels are maintained

Who are you and what will you bring?

• At least 1-2 years hospitality experience in a Cook role
• Hold and maintain NDIS Workers Check (or willing to obtain)
• Experience as a Cook within Aged Care
• Completed Food Safety Supervisor Course - Mandatory
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal & interpersonal)
