Job summary

The Cottage Balmain is hiring a full-time cook with solid kitchen experience to work across lunch and dinner services under our sous chefs. You'll learn our menu, cook to a high standard, and contribute to a calm, efficient kitchen.

No formal trade certificate required; availability across weekends and full Australian working rights are essential. We foster hands-on training from senior chefs, staff meals on shift, and a shared tips pool.

• Ability to follow recipes and allergen procedures.
• Reliable and eager to learn, with good feedback responsiveness.

About us

The Cottage Balmain is an independent, owner-run restaurant in a heritage cottage on Darling Street. We've been part of Balmain since 2012, serving lunch and dinner seven days a week with a Mediterranean style menu . The kitchen is led by two experienced sous chefs.

$80,000 + super for 45 hours a week, full-time

A share of pooled tips (currently around $50–70 a week)
