Job summary

Royal Freemasons Coppin Residential Aged Care in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Cook to deliver nutritious, appetising meals that support resident wellbeing. You will work with a hospitality team to create pleasing dining experiences for older Australians.

This permanent part-time role runs Tuesday to Friday, 10:00am–6:00pm, and requires a Trade Certificate or Diploma in Cookery and a Food Handling Safety Supervisor Certificate.

Qualifications

• Food safety and HACCP knowledge.
• Experience leading a kitchen team.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh, nutritious meals meeting residents' dietary needs and preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, handling, and storage.

Royal Freemasons Coppin Residential Aged Care is seeking an experienced and dedicated Cook who is passionate about food, quality, and resident wellbeing.

Working as part of a supportive hospitality team, you will play an important role in delivering nutritious, appetising meals that make a real difference to the lives of older Australians.

The Opportunity

As a Cook, you will play a key role in delivering safe, nutritious, and appetising meals that support the health, wellbeing, and individual preferences of our residents.

Working closely with the hospitality team, you will help create a positive dining experience that brings comfort and enjoyment to older Australians every day.

This is a permanent part-time position working a regular roster of Tuesday to Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Your Responsibilities:

• Prepare fresh, nutritious meals that cater to residents' individual dietary needs and preferences.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, handling, and storage in accordance with relevant regulations.
• Manage stock levels and assist with food ordering to ensure kitchen supplies are maintained.
• Safely use and store kitchen chemicals and equipment in line with workplace procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to create a positive and supportive work environment.
• Provide friendly, respectful, and responsive service to residents, visitors, and colleagues.
• Adhere to Aged Care Quality Standards and organisational policies at all times.
• Support a dementia-inclusive dining experience that promotes residents' dignity, choice, and wellbeing.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Trade Certificate or Diploma in Cookery
• Food Handling Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Work experience in Residential Aged Care as Cook or similar experience within Hospitality/Health of at least 2 years experience
• Ability to lead by example and train a team
• Good computer literacy and documentation skills
