Cafe Metz Canungra is seeking an experienced Cook/Chef to join our busy country café team in Canungra. The role focuses on breakfast and lunch service seven days a week, with an emphasis on fresh, generous, and delicious café food.

You will be responsible for cooking, food prep, and maintaining high standards in a friendly, fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate has previous cafe cooking experience, works well under pressure, and takes pride in presentation.

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cook / Chef to join our team in our busy country café.

We serve breakfast and lunch 7 days a week, with a menu that focuses on fresh, generous and delicious café food. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in what they put on the plate and enjoys working in a friendly, fast-paced environment.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch service, including:

• Preparing and cooking dishes to a consistently high standard

• Breakfast and lunch service

• Food preparation and kitchen organisation

• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards

• Working efficiently during busy service periods

• Assisting with menu preparation and specials

• Stock rotation and minimising food wastage

• Working collaboratively with the front-of-house and kitchen team

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience as a Cook, Chef or experienced Café Cook

• Is confident working across breakfast and lunch service

• Can work independently while also being a team player

• Has a good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene

• Is organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure

• Takes pride in presentation and consistency

• Has a positive attitude and enjoys being part of a small team

• Has a genuine passion for good food

Trade qualifications are desirable but not essential for the right person with relevant café cooking experience.
