Job summary

United Protestant Association of NSW Limited (UPA) is seeking a Cook for Gumleigh Garden to prepare meals compliant with HACCP and Food Safety Standards, while supporting residents with diet and nutritional needs.

The ideal candidate understands residents’ rights and person-centred care, with weekend availability and strong communication skills within a care environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in HACCP-based kitchen operations.
• Understanding of residents’ rights and dignity of risk.
• Experience in Aged Care is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in line with Food Safety Standards and HACCP.
• Deliver resident-centred meals and accommodate dietary needs.
• Collaborate with care team to support residents and families.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Cook to join our team at Gumleigh Garden.

• Knowledge and experience in working to the compliance of the Food Safety Standards to HACCP level
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Understanding of resident's rights, person-centred care and dignity of risk
• Ability to manage change efficiently and effectively
• Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook)
• Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards and Special Dietary needs
• Experience in Aged Care desirable
• Current First Aid Certificate desirable
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player who is highly motivated
• Availability to work weekend shifts
