Job summary

St Vincent's Care Services Bronte is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our experienced team providing high-quality meals for residents. The role supports a holistic, patient-centred approach within a boutique facility by the beach.

You will contribute to dietary planning, volume cooking for our aged care residents, and adherence to food safety standards. We offer a permanent part-time position with consistent daytime hours (Mon & Tue 6.30am–2.30pm; Wed & Thu 9.30am–5.30pm) and a supportive

  • Trade qualification in Commercial cooking preferred.
  • Current Food Handler Certificate (if available).
  • Experience with volume cooking in hotels, healthcare or similar environments.

Responsibilities

  • Cook for residents with volume cooking experience.

As a Cook , you'll be part of an experienced, engaged and dedicated team helping to create a welcoming, professional and supportive care experience for the residents of our St Vincent's Care Services Bronte.

St Vincent's Care Services Bronte is a boutique facility located in one of Sydney's beautiful beachside neighbourhoods. Our 107-bed facility offers a high standard of holistic care as well as specialist dementia accommodation.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity.

Mon & Tues - 6.30am to 2.30pm

Wed & Thurs - 9.30am to 5.30pm

Things that work for us:
  • Trade qualification in Commercial cooking (preferred), current Food Handler Certificate
  • Proven experience with volume cooking such as hotels, healthcare and/or similar environments
  • Flexibility to produce special dietary requirements - knowledge of aged care related nutrition and special diets for health advantageous .
  • Excellent knowledge related to all facets of Food Services which includes but not limited to chill production and planning dining service
  • Understanding of and compliance with food safety hygiene standards
  • High level of customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow directives as per care plan
  • Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (within 6 months)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check may be a requirement of this role.
