Job summary

St Vincent’s Care Services Heathcote is seeking a chef to deliver fine dining for residents, creating multi‑course menus and leading kitchen operations with a skilled team in a dynamic aged‑care setting.

You will bring commercial cooking experience, strong food safety discipline, and a caring approach, with shifts on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, plus Thursdays and Fridays, along with benefits such as salary packaging and staff wellbeing programs.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Commercial cooking (preferred).
• Proven experience with volume cooking in hospitals, healthcare and similar environments.
• Excellent knowledge of all facets of Food Services including chill production and dining service planning.
• Ability to lead day-to-day production with kitchenhands and ensure smooth kitchen operation.
• Understanding of food safety hygiene standards.
• High level of customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to follow directives per care plan.
• Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities.
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (valid within 6 months).
• NDIS Worker Screening Check will be a requirement.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Chef to join our innovative team at St Vincent’s Care ServicesHeathcote.

St Vincent’s Care Services Heathcote (locally known as John Paul Village) is a 213 bed facility located 35km from Sydney’s CBD. It is situated next to the Royal National Park, one of Sydney’s real treasures!

In this role you will bring your strong cooking skills and passion for your profession to create our residents a fine dining experience that is second to none! Delivering multi courses, elegant dishes and planning a variety of menus this is your opportunity to show your creative flair whilst working alongside a highly experienced team in a dynamic setting which is redefining the expectations of aged care.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity. Shifts as below-

Sunday. Monday & Tuesday: 10am to 6pm

Thursday & Friday: 6am to 2pm

Things that work for us:

• Trade qualification in Commercial cooking (preferred), current Food Handler Certificate
