Job summary

St Vincent's Health Australia is seeking a friendly Barista to join the care team at St Vincent's Care Services Heathcote in New South Wales. You will help create a welcoming cafe environment for residents, families and staff, delivering beverages and light meals with empathy and professionalism.

Permanent, part-time shifts 8:30am–3:30pm: Mon-Wed and Thurs-Fri-Sat, with a focus on high-quality service, food safety and teamwork within a compassionate, Catholic not-for-profit aged care setting.

Qualifications

  • Barista course completion is highly regarded.
  • Cert III in Hospitality and/or Food preparation is desirable.
  • Availability and willingness to work the stated shifts.
  • Experience in hospitality, aged care, hospital environment or related field ideal.
  • Provide services that support high quality barista & food services for residents, customers and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation and serving of beverages and meals.
  • Maintain high standards of food and beverage service within the cafe.
  • Duties include dishwashing, general cleaning and maintenance.
  • Deliver friendly, customer-focused service to residents and staff.

As a Barista, you'll be part of an experienced, engaged and dedicated team helping to create a welcoming, professional and supportive care experience for the residents of our St Vincent's Care Services Heathcote.

St Vincent's Care Services Heathcote (locally known as John Paul Village) is a 213 bed facility located 35km from Sydney's CBD. It is situated next to the Royal National Park, one of Sydney's real treasures! Things that work for us
  • Completion of a Barista course highly regarded.
  • Cert III in Hospitality and/or Food preparation certificate desirable.
  • Availability and willingness to work for the above shifts.
  • Experience in Hospitality, Aged Care, Hospital environment and/or related field ideal.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, assisting in the preparation and serving of beverages and meals.
  • Provide services that support high quality barista & food services outcomes for residents, customers, and staff of the facility per their dietary requirements.
  • Work is delivered and maintained to a high standard within the facility cafe in the areas of food and beverage service, dishwashing, general cleaning, and maintenance.
  • High level of customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • An ability to provide a catering and kitchen service that is consistent with the mission and philosophy of our organisation, and food safety standards.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (within last 6 months).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check will be a requirement of this role.
