Job summary

St Vincent's Care Services Heathcote is seeking a dedicated Chef to deliver fine dining experiences for residents, applying strong cooking skills and culinary creativity in a dynamic aged care setting.

You will lead day-to-day production, plan menus, and collaborate with care teams to ensure high-quality meals while upholding food safety standards and resident rights.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in Commercial cooking (preferred).
  • Current Food Handler Certificate.
  • Proven experience with volume cooking in healthcare or similar settings.
  • Knowledge of all facets of Food Services, including chill production and dining service.
  • Ability to lead day-to-day production with kitchen hands and ensure smooth operations.
  • Understanding of food safety hygiene standards.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow care plans and understand aged care resident rights.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check within 6 months.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare multi-course meals and plan varied menus for residents.
  • Lead day-to-day production with kitchen hands.
  • Ensure food safety and hygiene compliance.

Delivering multi courses, elegant dishes and planning a variety of menus this is your opportunity to show your creative flair whilst working alongside a highly experienced team in a dynamic setting which is redefining the expectations of aged care. This is a permanent part-time opportunity. Shifts as below- Sunday. Monday & Tuesday: 10am to 6pm Thursday & Friday: 6am to 2pm

  • Understanding of and compliance with food safety hygiene standards
  • High levelof customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow directives as per care plan
  • Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (valid within 6 months)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check will be a requirement of this role.
