Job summary

Alchemy Restaurant in Sydney seeks a full-time cook experienced in traditional Polish cuisine to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and cook a variety of Polish dishes, ensuring quality, consistency and timely service in a fast-paced setting.

You will work under the Operations Manager, with standard hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and some events requiring flexibility. Candidates must have appropriate Australian work rights and relevant cookery qualifications.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• 2+ years with qualification, or 3+ years in lieu.
• Unrestricted work rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Polish meals according to menus and instructions.
• Ensure food is cooked and presented to standard.
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations in all kitchen activities.
• Store ingredients properly and handle food safely.
• Clean kitchen equipment, surfaces and prep areas.
• Assist with stock control and minimise wastage.
• Adhere to WHS and safe food-handling practices.

• Ensuring food is cooked and presented to standard.
• Following food safety and hygiene regulations in all kitchen activities.
• Storing ingredients properly and handling food safely.
• Cleaning kitchen equipment, cooking surfaces, and food preparation areas.
• Assisting with basic stock control and minimising food wastage.
• Adhering to WHS and safe food-handling practices at all times.

The position will report to the Operations Manager.

Work hours will be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional requirements outside standard hours for special events.

Education

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

• A Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or other relevant qualification.
• At least 2 year of relevant experience with qualifications, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of formal education.
