Job summary

Moran Health Care Group's Moran Engadine home in Sydney's Sutherland Shire is seeking a motivated Cook to prepare nourishing, home-style meals for residents. You’ll join a dedicated team, follow MHCG recipes, and support dietary needs while maintaining high food safety standards.

This role offers above award rates, with weekday and weekend availability, and opportunities for skill development within a modern care environment. You’ll contribute to a warm, welcoming home atmosphere for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial catering or other food service.
• TAFE approved Commercial Cookery Course or equivalent.
• Certificate in Food Handling and Hygiene.
• Familiarity with state Food Handling Regulations/HACCP.
• Organisational and management ability.
• Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Current Police Check and Valid Working Rights.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day delivery of food services at Moran Engadine home.
• All aspects of food preparation and cooking, using MHCG recipes and menus.
• Liaise with Chef Manager for residents requiring preparation of special diets.
• Confidently prepare a selection of varied food choices.
• Ensure dietary and nutritional needs of residents are met.
• Ordering of stock, budget control and minimisation of food wastage as required.
• Active participation in the Food Safety Program.
• Maintenance of the highest standards of food services in our home.
• Responsible for the ordering, storage and labelling of food as required by the Chef Manager.
• Prepare and present food within set time frames.

We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Cook to join our wonderful team at our Moran Engadine home, set in one of the prime residential areas in Sydney's Sutherland Shire. Above award rates!

• Shift Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday - 9:30AM to 17:30PM

In this role, you will be genuinely dedicated to creating a welcoming, and warm environment by preparing a range of delicious and nourishing home-cooked meals. Your care and reliability will help ensure everyone considers it a place where they are truly at home.

You will receive ongoing guidance and mentoring to help you succeed in your role. You'll work with a dedicated team, making a positive impact on our residents’ daily lives. Moran offers a rewarding environment with modern facilities and opportunities for skill development.
