Job summary

Coolum Beer Company, trading as Coolum Brewing Company, is seeking an experienced Cook in Coolum Beach, QLD. Full-time and part-time roles are available, 24–38 hours per week. Pay is $79,423 per year for full-time (38 hours). Part-time pay is proportionate to hours worked with applicable entitlements.

The role reports to the Venue Manager and Event Manager and involves food prep across a commercial kitchen and wood-fired BBQ for regular service and events.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as a cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Understanding of Brazilian churrasco and West Indian ingredients and techniques.
• Confidence operating a wood-fired BBQ and commercial kitchen equipment.

Coolum Beer Company, trading as Coolum Brewing Company, is seeking an experienced Cook in Coolum Beach, QLD 4573. Full‑time and part‑time opportunities are available, from 24 to 38 hours per week. Pay: $79,423 per year plus superannuation for full‑time work (38 hours per week). Part‑time pay is calculated proportionately to agreed hours, with applicable award entitlements accounted for. Reporting to the Venue Manager and Event Manager, you will prepare food across our commercial kitchen and wood‑fired BBQ for regular service and events.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes consistently to our recipes and presentation standards.
• Work confidently across a full commercial kitchen and wood‑fired BBQ.
• Apply an understanding of international cuisines, including Brazilian churrasco and West Indian cuisine.
• Organise preparation and deliver efficient service during busy periods and events.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, temperature control and safe storage practices.
• Monitor stock, rotate ingredients and minimise waste.
• Coordinate with the Venue Manager, Event Manager and wider team.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen.
• Understanding of Brazilian churrasco and West Indian ingredients, flavours and cooking techniques.
• Confidence safely operating a wood‑fired BBQ and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Strong organisation, communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability for weekends, split shifts and public holidays.

Hours and roster

The venue is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Shifts vary according to service and event requirements, with rostered start and finish times between 10 am and midnight. Individual shifts fall within this operating window.
