Job summary

At C&K Dixon St Early Years Centre, we are seeking a Cook to create magical culinary experiences for children. You’ll work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 1:00pm, with a fixed-term contract through December 2026.

A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or related) is ideal, and you may be considered with relevant experience even if unqualified. We offer benefits such as childcare discounts, Blue Card and Police Check funding, and predictable hours with no weekends or evenings.

Qualifications

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or related discipline) and Quality Food Supervisor Certificate is ideal, but we are happy to consider unqualified applicants with experience.
• Valid Blue Card and current Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Using our state-of-the-art kitchen, you’ll whip up delicious, nutritious meals and snacks that delight children in our care.
• You will design and deliver your menu with the close support of our Kitchens Operations Supervisor to ensure dietary requirements are well supported.
• Join the Dixon St Early Years Centre kitchen team as a Cook and contribute to healthy, balanced meal options for kids.

C&K Dixon St Early Years Centre is research childcare centre offering an intensive Early Childhood Education and Care program. It aims to address a critical gap in Australia’s early childhood education and care system, which is currently not set up to adequately support children living with severe levels of family stress and social disadvantage.

The objective of the intensive early childhood education and care program is that children living with significant adversity will experience a stable and enriching early learning and care program and enter school as confident and successful learners who are developmentally equal to their peers.

As our highly valued Cook with our Dixon Street team, you’ll create magical culinary experiences that nourish the bodies and minds of the children in our care.

• Monday to Friday, no weekends, nights or public holidays
• 25 hours per week - 8:00am to 1:00pm
• Fixed Term Contract - December 2026
• $33.4544 - $38.9237 per hour + Super

Using our state-of-the art kitchen, you’ll whip up delicious, nutritious meals and snacks that delight even the pickiest of tiny tastebuds, creating cherished meal-time memories and supporting children to become healthy, happy and confident lifelong learners. You will design and deliver your menu with the close support of our Kitchens Operations Supervisor to ensure all our little learner’s dietary requirements are well supported.
