Job summary

C&K Dixon St Early Years Centre in Strathpine, QLD is seeking a Cook to join the Dixon Street kitchen team. You’ll create nutritious meals and snacks for the children, plan menus with the support of our Kitchens Operations Supervisor, and help nourish young learners every day.

With a 25-hour week schedule (Mon-Fri, 8:00am-1:00pm) and a December 2026 fixed-term contract, you’ll enjoy a stable role in a child-safe organisation that values wellbeing, learning, and family-friendly hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and snacks in a state-of-the-art kitchen.
• Design and deliver menus in collaboration with the Kitchens Operations Supervisor.
• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and promote healthy eating.

C&K Dixon St Early Years Centre is research childcare centre offering an intensive Early Childhood Education and Care program. It aims to address a critical gap in Australia’s early childhood education and care system, which is currently not set up to adequately support children living with severe levels of family stress and social disadvantage.

The objective of the intensive early childhood education and care program is that children living with significant adversity will experience a stable and enriching early learning and care program and enter school as confident and successful learners who are developmentally equal to their peers.

As our highly valued Cook with our Dixon Street team, you’ll create magical culinary experiences that nourish the bodies and minds of the children in our care.

• Monday to Friday, no weekends, nights or public holidays
• 25 hours per week - 8:00am to 1:00pm
• Fixed Term Contract - December 2026
• $33.4544 - $38.9237 per hour + Super

Using our state-of-the art kitchen, you’ll whip up delicious, nutritious meals and snacks that delight even the pickiest of tiny tastebuds, creating cherished meal-time memories and supporting children to become healthy, happy and confident lifelong learners. You will design and deliver your menu with the close support of our Kitchens Operations Supervisor to ensure all our little learner’s dietary requirements are well supported.

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or related discipline) and Quality Food Supervisor Certificate is ideal, but we are happy to consider unqualified applicants with experience.
• Valid Blue Card and current Police Check.
