Job summary

CSL Australia is seeking a permanent full-time Cook to join the vessel Osprey, operating on a 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off roster. You will be responsible for provisioning, galley cleanliness, and meal provision for all onboard crew on a South Australian coastal route.

Reporting to the Master, you will follow SQS procedures, order victualling supplies within budget, and support a safe, healthy work environment aboard a modern, self-unloading vessel.

Qualifications

• AMSA Certificate of Proficiency as a Marine Cook is mandatory.
• MSIC Card and AMSA Medical are required to work on board.
• Certificate of Safety Training is desirable.
• Australian citizenship or valid working visa without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all accommodation spaces are clean and well maintained.
• Provide meals for all on board with healthy, varied options.
• Follow policies described in SQS manuals relevant to galley operations.
• Send all orders to the Master and manage vessel stores within budget.

Overview

CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Cook to join our vessel Osprey, on a roster schedule 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off. This vessel operates in Southen Australia and tansports limestone. Reporting to the Master, the Cook is responsible for the provision of meals and the adequacy and cleanliness of the galley and provisions storage spaces.

How will you contribute to our success?

• Ensuring that all accommodation spaces are clean;
• Ensuring that meals are provided for all onboard and that variety is with recommended alternatives suitable for a healthy diet;
• Ensuring policies and procedures described in the SQS manuals pertinent to their area are followed;
• Sending all orders to the Master;
• Ordering victualling provisions and for the placement of orders for marine stores while remaining within vessel budget.

Basic Requirements

• Minimum Educational Requirements: AMSA Certificate of Proficiency as a Marine Cook;
• MSIC Card (required)
• Current AMSA Medical (required)
• Certificate of Safety Training (desirable)
• Australian Citizen or hold a valid Australian working visa without working restrictions
• Be comfortable wearing a respirator while on deck.
