Job summary

CSL Australia is seeking a permanent full-time Second Engineer to join the cement carrier Goliath, based in Bass Strait. You will report to the First Engineer and oversee the main engine and auxiliary systems, with a 6 weeks on/6 weeks off roster.

The role requires AMSA Engineer Class 2 credentials, 3+ years sea time as Engine Watchkeeper, and MSIC. A safety-focused mindset and commitment to compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 2 is required.
• AMSA Engineer Class 2 CoC/CoR Unlimited is required.
• Minimum 3 years sea time as Engine Watchkeeper is required.
• MSIC is required.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of the main engine in accordance with Class and Standing Orders.
• Safe operation of the boiler in accordance with Class and Standing Orders.
• Performing day work in conjunction with a rotating 24 hour system of Gear Turn.
• Any other duties as required.

Job description

CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Second Engineer to join our cement carrier Goliath on a roster schedule 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off. This operation is based in the Bass Strait. Reporting to the First Engineer, the Second Engineer is responsible for the maintenance of the main engine auxiliary engines.

The Second Engineer Will Be Responsible For

• The safe operation of the main engine in accordance with Class and Standing Orders;
• Safe operation of the boiler in accordance with Class and Standing Orders;
• Performing day work in conjunction with a rotating 24 hour system of Gear Turn;
• Any other duties as required.

• Educational requirement: as per AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 2 ( required)

• Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) (desirable)
• Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable)Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable)
• H old, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) (required)
• Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights
• Living in Australia
