Job summary

Mountain Heritage in Katoomba is seeking a Cook to join a destination fine dining team delivering memorable dining experiences for hotel guests and the public. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will oversee a cooking section and contribute to evolving menu ideas with a focus on flavour consistency.

You will lead and energise the kitchen brigade, uphold WHS and company policies, and maintain high-quality meals while building strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Leads and inspires a kitchen brigade to meet high standards.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and fosters teamwork.
• Holds a Food Handling Certificate and maintains hygiene practices.
• Possesses a tertiary qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent experience.
• Capable of upholding company values and standards.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who will be responsible for:

• Effectively and efficiently running a cooking section in-line with company standards.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of interesting and popular menu ideas.
• Inspire and energise the team to be the best they can be.
• Follow policies and procedures at all times.
• Maintain strong relations, internally and externally.
• Consistently deliver high-quality meals.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order.
• Follow WH&S compliance at all times.

We are looking for a Cook who:

• Has a high level of personal morale and appearance.
• A positive attitude and willingness to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, productivity and effectiveness!
• Food Handling Certificate.
• Tertiary qualification in Commercial Cookery and/or equivalent experience in a similar role with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• You will have the ability to lead and influence a kitchen brigade.
