RetireAustralia is seeking a talented and dedicated Cook to join our passionate team at Glengara Retirement Village on a part-time basis. As our in-house Cook, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents, ensuring they enjoy delicious and nutritious meals while adhering to the highest standards of health, safety and food handling practices.

Part time role including weekend shifts - no late nights

The Position

Reporting to the Village Manager, you will also be responsible for:

• Assisting in the control and monitoring of stocktake, food orders and costing for an efficient kitchen operation.
• Maintaining and managing food handling regulations and kitchen compliance standards.
• Planning and preparing food for events and special functions within the village.
• Ensuring resident privacy and confidentiality requirements are maintained at all times.

We're on the lookout for someone with:

• Good availability across weekdays and weekends, with weekend availability essential.
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
• Experience preparing nutritionally balanced meals for older people, including those with specific dietary requirements.
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or formal Chef/Cook qualifications.
• National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
• First Aid and CPR Certificate (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment, including Drug and Alcohol Testing.
