Job summary

We are seeking a Cook to work the hours 8.30am to 2.00pm - Monday to Friday on a permanent employment basis. The successful candidate will have experience in a commercial cooking environment and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, children and families. You will develop and prepare seasonal nutritious menus and be responsible for ordering and managing food budgets. Having a passion and positive attitude for children's food and nutrition is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare seasonal nutritious menus
• Have experience and passion for cooking healthy and nutritious meals
• Order and manage food budgets
• Cook for up to 50-60 children per day
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, children and families
• Ordering food supplies in line with menus and within service budget

About you

• Cooking experience in a commercial cooking environment
• Certificate in cookery preferred
• Be reliable, motivated and an enthusiastic centre cook
• Experience cooking in a childcare service (preferred)
• Knowledge of Food Safety Programs and Allergies
• Food Preparation and Food Supervision Certificates
• Working with Children Check
• Completion of Foundation Child Safety Training Course
• First Aid Certificate

• Strong Communication Skills
