Job summary

BlueCare’s Flinders View Nowlanvil Aged Care Facility is seeking a part-time Cook to deliver high-quality, resident-centred dining. You will work under the Home Services Lead with the Chef to ensure meals are enjoyable, meet dietary needs and are presented well.

Responsibilities include preparing, cooking and presenting meals, ensuring IDDSI compliance, allergens and texture-modified needs, while maintaining hygiene, completing documentation and supporting kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of safe food handling and food safety.
• Understanding of IDDSI, allergens and special diets.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow direction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirements.
• Ensure all meals meet IDDSI, allergen and texture-modified needs.
• Deliver meals that are well-presented, appetising and served at the correct temperature.
• Support food preparation, portioning, plating and kitchen operations.
• Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards.
• Complete documentation including temperature checks, cleaning logs and production records.
• Identify and report hazards, incidents or equipment faults.

The role works under the direction of the Home Services Lead and collaboratively with the Chef to ensure meals are enjoyable, consistent and contribute to resident dignity, wellbeing and comfort.As a key member of the kitchen team, the Cook maintains a clean, safe and efficient work environment, follows established procedures and supports positive interactions with residents, families and colleagues.
