BlueCare Yeppoon Capricorn Aged Care seeks a Part-time Cook to prepare and present meals that meet dietary needs and resident preferences. You’ll work under the Home Services Lead and alongside the Chef to ensure meals are enjoyable, safely served and on-brand with menus.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
• Food safety knowledge and safe food handling practices.
• Understanding of IDDSI, allergens and dietary requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow directions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer and documentation skills. Experience in aged care is highly regarded.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with menus, recipes and dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals meet IDDSI, allergen, cultural and texture-modified needs.
• Deliver meals that are well-presented and served at the correct temperature.
• Support food preparation, portioning, plating and kitchen operations.
• Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards.
• Complete documentation including temperature checks, cleaning logs and production records.

The role works under the direction of the Home Services Lead and collaboratively with the Chef to ensure meals are enjoyable, consistent and contribute to resident dignity, wellbeing and comfort. As a key member of the kitchen team, the Cook maintains a clean, safe and efficient work environment, follows established procedures and supports positive interactions with residents, families and colleagues.
