Job summary

Glencore's Mount Isa Mines in Queensland invites applications for an Inventory Controller based in Mount Isa. You will ensure materials are available to support safe operations, manage stock levels and work with Maintenance, Operations, Warehouse and Procurement.

The role requires experience in inventory control, ERP systems (SAP), strong data accuracy and problem-solving, with a focus on continuous improvement. Local candidates preferred with relocation support if outside Mount Isa.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory levels, shortages, supply risks and replenishment requirements to protect operational continuity.
• Review demand, usage, lead times and stock holdings to optimise inventory levels and support replenishment planning.
• Work with Procurement, Warehouse, Maintenance and Operations to resolve shortages, urgent requirements and supply issues.
• Maintain accurate material master data and investigate inventory discrepancies, unusual movements and data quality issues.
• Identify and manage excess, surplus, slow-moving and obsolete inventory to optimise inventory investment.
• Analyse inventory performance and drive continuous improvement opportunities across processes, reporting and controls.

This role is residentially based in Mount Isa, working Monday to Friday - 8 hour days. We encourage suitably qualified and experienced local candidates to apply. About The Role

The Inventory Controller is responsible for ensuring the right materials are available when required to support safe and reliable Mount Isa operations, while minimising unnecessary inventory investment. Working closely with Maintenance, Operations, Warehouse, Procurement and Master Data teams, the role manages inventory risk, optimises stock levels and supports effective replenishment decisions. The position also plays an important role in improving data quality, identifying supply risks and driving continuous improvement across inventory processes and controls.

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor inventory levels, shortages, supply risks and replenishment requirements to protect operational continuity.
• Review demand, usage, lead times and stock holdings to optimise inventory levels and support replenishment planning.

Required Experience

The successful candidate will have previous experience in inventory control, materials management, supply planning, procurement or warehouse operations, ideally within mining, resources, heavy industry or another asset-intensive environment. Practical experience working with an ERP system, preferably SAP, and an understanding of inventory replenishment, stock movements, purchasing and material master data will be highly valued. The role requires a strong analytical and practical mindset, with the ability to interpret demand, usage and lead-time information, manage competing priorities and work effectively with operational and technical stakeholders.
