Job summary

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical/Rail Signalling, or equivalent.
  • Experience maintaining complex control systems, networks, servers or virtualised environments.
  • Strong fault-finding and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Windows, networking, and industrial control or signalling systems.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call roster and provide after-hours support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support, maintenance and incident response for critical systems underpinning train operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and support system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with operations teams, stakeholders and suppliers to maximise system availability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement while working safely and to standards.

In this role, you'll:

Join Sydney Trains and play a critical role in keeping Sydney’s rail network moving safely and reliably. As a Signal Control Systems Technical Specialist, you’ll provide technical support, maintenance and incident response for the critical systems that underpin train operations across the network. Working in a 24/7 operational environment, you’ll diagnose and resolve faults, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, support system upgrades, and work closely with operational teams, stakeholders and suppliers to maximise system availability. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with operational standards.

About You
  • A qualification in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical/Rail Signalling, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience maintaining complex control systems, networks, servers or virtualised environments.
  • Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Windows, networking, and industrial control or signalling systems (rail experience highly regarded).
  • A willingness to participate in an on-call roster and provide after-hours support.
