Job summary

Evolve Scientific Recruitment on the Gold Coast is seeking a Control Systems Project Engineer for a long-term casual contract with full-time hours. The role covers initiation and delivery of projects across multiple sites, with responsibility for scoping, planning, budgeting, design input, procurement and tender submissions.

Qualifications

• A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, or substantial experience in control systems / systems integration.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in Electrical area, or eligibility to obtain RPEQ within timeframe.
• Extensive project delivery experience in water, mining, oil & gas, or manufacturing, with strong SCADA/PLC experience.
• Experience in control systems design, programming, configuration, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute projects through the full lifecycle.

• Deliver projects within budget and schedule with safe execution across phases.
• Liaise with operations, maintenance, procurement, and asset management for delivery.

About the company/role:

Our client, a global environmental organisation, is currently seeking a Control Systems Project Engineer to join their team on the Gold Coast. This is a long-term casual contract role with full-time hours each week.

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the initiation and delivery of projects across multiple sites, as well as managing change associated with project implementation.

Duties:

• Plan and execute projects through the full project lifecycle
• Assist with project scoping, planning, estimating, design input, procurement, and tender submissions where required
• Deliver assigned projects within budget and agreed schedules, ensuring safe execution across all phases
• Liaise with operations, maintenance, procurement, and asset management teams to ensure successful project initiation and delivery
• Manage subcontractors and consultants to achieve project outcomes, including site supervision and technical oversight of engineering consultants
• Ensure all project activities comply with relevant WHS, environmental, and site-specific requirements

Skills/experience:

• A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, or substantial experience in control systems / systems integration.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in the Electrical area of practice, or eligibility to obtain RPEQ within an agreed timeframe.
• Extensive project delivery experience in the water, mining, oil & gas, or manufacturing industries, with strong experience in SCADA and PLC project execution.
• Working experience in control systems design, programming, configuration, and commissioning.
• Strong working knowledge of Siemens PCS 7 (highly desirable).
• Current driver's licence.
• Ability to utilise relevant computer software applications (e.g. Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, including MS Project desirable).
