Job summary

Embedded Expertise is seeking a Mackay-based Control Systems Project Manager to lead the delivery of OT and control system initiatives on a 12-month contract with extension potential. An established industrial organisation is seeking an experienced Control Systems Project Manager to lead the delivery of a portfolio of operational technology and control systems initiatives. This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Mackay, with a strong likelihood of extension and flexible working arrangements available.

Working closely with operational teams, engineering stakeholders, and business leaders, you will be responsible for driving project execution from planning through to delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in line with business objectives.

Key duties and experience of the role include:

• Lead the delivery of control systems and automation projects across a complex operational environment.
• Manage project execution activities including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and reporting.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with operational, engineering, and production teams.
• Facilitate project planning activities and ensure alignment with broader business and production objectives.
• Oversee contractors, vendors, and technical resources throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required.
• Support project governance, documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice project delivery methodologies.

You will bring:

• Proven experience delivering projects within control systems, automation, or operational technology environments.
• Strong project execution and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working with production planning and operational teams.
• Solid understanding of industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and automation technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Experience delivering projects within mining, resources, manufacturing, utilities, or heavy industry environments.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Formal project management qualifications or certifications will be highly regarded.
