Job summary

Alliance Automation in Mackay is seeking a Control Systems Engineer with 2+ years of experience to deliver high-quality automation solutions for mining, resources and industrial sectors. You will be involved from design through testing, commissioning and ongoing client support.

The role offers exposure to PLC/SCADA, DCS and RTU technologies, with opportunities for learning, mentoring, and professional development in a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience in industrial automation or control systems engineering.
  • Exposure to PLC, SCADA, DCS, RTU or industrial networking technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Systems or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test control system solutions across PLC, SCADA, DCS, RTU and industrial network platforms.
  • Participate in project delivery from concept through to commissioning.
  • Prepare and contribute to technical documentation, specifications and test procedures.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing client systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project teams and clients to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Promote and maintain Alliance Automation's commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Control Systems Engineer to join our Mackay team and help deliver high-quality automation solutions across the mining, resources and industrial sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with 2+ years' experience who wants to develop their technical skills, work on challenging projects and be part of a team that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. You'll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, commissioning and ongoing client support.

What You'll Do
  • Design, develop and test control system solutions across PLC, SCADA, DCS, RTU and industrial network platforms.

What We're Looking For

  • Exposure to PLC, SCADA, DCS, RTU or industrial networking technologies.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A desire to build a long‑term career within a leading automation and engineering business.
