Job summary

Pilbara Minerals Limited is seeking a Control Room Technician to safeguard plant equipment and systems, ensuring operations stay within approved parameters for consistent production. The fixed-term FIFO role operates from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara, with a focus on real-time data, alarms, and process control performance.

The role involves start-ups, shut-downs, isolations, and collaboration with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering to drive efficiency and safety across shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience operating fixed plant in mining/processing/refining environments.
• Strong DCS/SCADA skills with alarm/trend analysis.
• Safety-first mindset with good communication under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Mid-Stream plant safely within approved parameters.
• Monitor processes via DCS/SCADA and respond to alarms.
• Coordinate with Operations/Maintenance/Engineering and deliver clear shift handovers.
• Execute start-ups, shutdowns and isolations per procedures.
• Validate instruments and control loops; manage alarms and trends.
• Maintain logs and escalate safety/quality/equipment issues.
• Comply with HSE systems of work and support emergency response.
• Support commissioning, punch listing and ramp-up activities.
• Drive optimisation and continuous improvement; support RCA/5-Whys.
• Coach operators and contribute to SWIs and troubleshooting guides.
