Job summary

PLS is seeking a Control Room Technician (CRT) to safeguard plant, equipment and systems in a fixed-term FIFO role in the Pilbara. You will monitor real-time data, alarms, trends and process performance, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining safety standards.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will coordinate with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering, execute startup/shutdowns, and drive continuous improvement. WA rights and a current WA C Class licence are required.

Qualifications

• Proven control room experience operating fixed plant (mining/processing/refining).
• Strong DCS/SCADA skills with alarm/trend diagnosis.
• Safety-first mindset with high process discipline.
• WA C Class licence and full Australian working rights.
• Experience with commissioning/start-up and ramp-up.

Responsibilities

• Operate Mid-Stream plant safely within operating parameters.
• Monitor processes via DCS/SCADA and respond to alarms.
• Coordinate with Operations/Maintenance/Engineering and provide clear shift handovers.
• Execute start-ups, shutdowns and isolations per procedures.
• Validate instruments, manage alarms and trends.
• Maintain logs and address safety/quality/issues promptly.
• Support commissioning, punch listing and ramp-up activities.
• Drive optimisation and continuous improvement; support RCA/5-Whys.
• Coach operators and contribute to SWIs and troubleshooting guides.
